Maxview Omnisat Crank Up Satellite System

The Omnisat 66 manual 'Crank-Up' satellite system (B2590) is a manually operated system which uses the latest 'elliptical' 66cm satellite dish. The Omnisat 66 has been designed for permanent fixing to the roof of your vehicle, and because it does not rely on a through the roof mast, can be mounted in a more convenient position away from roof lights and vents.

The Omnisat 66 'Crank-up' assembly, makes it even easier to align the dish to the required satellite. Vertical alignment is achieved by using the ceiling mounted 'crank up' handle assembly and supplied 'zone map'. Horizontal alignment is just a matter of turning the direction pointer to align with the compass bezel.

Each Dish Pack is equipped with a universal LNB, cable, fixing accessories and illustrated fixing instructions.

I have owned this system for five years and find it generally satisfactory and easy to use, as long as careful attention is paid to obstructions, elevation and orientation.

I find that the rubber seals between the rotating plate and the static roof mounted section tend to stick when in hot sunlight. A temporary solution is effected by using aerosol silicone grease injected under the rotating section, but the problem eventually returns. To counter this stiffness I have made a plywood \"spanner\" to fit over the rotating plate inside the van.

Otherwise an excellent product for the price, with no complicated electronics to go wrong.
