Crank Up Satellite Systems
What is a Crank Up System?
Crank Up Satellite Systems are a fast coming popular style of satellite systems for motorhomes and caravans alike. The term Crank Up comes from the ability to literally Crank the system up from inside of the vehicle and manually sight the system for reception. Some refer to the systems as Fixed Manual Systems as they are typically hard fixed to the roof the vehicle and manually sighted (i.e. pointed to the satellite of choice).
Are they easy to fit?
Relatively yes, the downside remains that you have to make a hole in the roof of your motorhome or caravan to fit the Crank Up mechanism, as you will have to take in consideration the planning around any features in the vehicle and roofs construction.
If you require fitting we can offer fitting from one of our experienced mobile fitters, for an idea of cost use the Quote Me Service on the right hand side.
What models are available?
Quite a few - the most popular brands are Camos and Maxivew which both are different in dish type. Camos Crank Up Satellite Systems use a planar antenna which is significantly more compact and more efficient than conventional parabolic dishes which means more space is saved on the vehicle roof. Maxview Crank Ups are parabolic dishes which are larger in size and often heavier but have similar performance but at a lower price point.
Both offer options for Twin LNBs and differing dish sizes.
Can I watch Sky+ on a Crank UP Satellite System?
Yes you can, providing that the Crank Up System you choose has Twin LNBs.
